The main construction works are now complete. Finishing works will continue for much of 2017 but these should have little or no impact on members of the public.
Any anticipated impacts on the roads or footpaths will now be highlighted on the website homepage.
The information below, which is now out of date, charts some of the key works which were undertaken as part of the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme.
|12/10/2015 to 30/10/2015||Raeburn Place, A7 (behind Oregon Timber) and Ettrick Terrace||Tree and vegetation clearance and preparatory works for main construction works (which will be undertaken in this area during 2016)||Temporary traffic lights will be required on the A7 (behind Oregon Timber) and at the junction with Raeburn Place. These traffic lights will be in operation during working hours only. Some delays are likely.|

|The footpath behind Corbie Terrace will be closed until spring 2016 - a localised diversion via Bridge Street, Cannon Street and behind the site compound is in place.
There will be an increase in construction related traffic on Linglie Road.
There will be some noise, vibration, dust and mud on the raods - this is being closely monitored and steps will be taken to mitigate any significant impacts.
|September 2015 to Summer 2016||Corby Linn Road||WS 26 and 27 - Construction of LPB Spillway, localised road roasing and new flood defence wall||Sections of Corby Linn Road will be closed at various times during this period with alternative access provided via the temporary access road. There will also be temporary traffic lights on Corby Linn Road during some stages of the work. Delays are likely.|
|23/02/2015 to 26/02/2016||Riverside - Between Bridge Street Footbridge & St Mary’s Mill Footbridge||Work Sections 14, 15 & 16: Construction of Flood Defence Walls & Embankments||The riverside footpath will be closed for periods during this work. Riverside Road will remain open throughout for access to residential properties and businesses. Access is via Whinfield Road, Rogers Road and the temporary Riverside access road. This is signposted.|
|13/05/2015 to 11/10/2015||Bridge Street Footbridge||Work Section 13: Bridge Street footbridge replacement works||The bridge will be closed from the 13th of May. The diversion is signposted and is via the main Selkirk road bridge|
|21/04/2015 to 11/10/2015||St Mary's Mill Footbridge||Work Section 16 and 17: Construction of Flood Defence Walls||Footbridge Closed. Diversion via Bridge Street Footbridge (until 13/05/15) and from 13/05 via main Selkirk road bridge.|
|21/04/2015 to 29/01/2016||Level Crossing Road||Work Section 17: Construction of Flood Defence Wall||Local Access only to Level Crossing Road businesses. Localised diversions in operation - as signposted.|
|02/03/2015 to 31/10/2015||Old Mill Farm||Work Section 2: Construction of Flood Defence Embankment||There will be a slight increase in the volume of traffic between the town & the entrance to WS 2 at Thirladean|
|06/04/2015 to 31/12/2015||Ettrickhaugh Road||Work Sction 6: Ettrickhaugh Road Wall & Footbridge. Piling operations and construction of new footbridge.||Significant work behind houses at east end of the road. Some noise impacts are anticipated and there will be a slight increase in construction related traffic on the road.
The footbridge has been removed with a local diversion in place and signposted.
|July - December 2015||A707 road bridge at the Long Philip Burn||Work Section 31: A707 Bridge Replacement||Road closure - localised diversion and temporary traffic lights in operation. Delays likely.
During November 2015 the road closure in this area will be altered and a section of the A708 will be closed. Traffic will be diverted over the new road bridge under the control of temporary traffic lights.
|April - Spring 2016||Philiphaugh - Ettrick Water riverside footpaths||Work Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 - Construction of flood defence walls & embankments.||Sections of footpaths in these areas will be closed throughout 2015 and early 2016. Where possible local diversions will be established and signposted. The footpaths may also be muddier than normal.|
|April to November 2015||Midlem to Selkirk. Including the A699, A7, Selkirk High Street, A707, A708 and a number of local roads||Transport of clay material from 'Borrow Pit' to Selkirk and of excavated material from various Work Sections to the Angles Field processing area (just off the A708).||Increase in construction related traffic, including HGVs, on roads. Delays possible.|
|Bridge Street Footbridge - area north and south of river and roads through Selkirk||Work Section 13: Bridge Street footbridge
Transportation of new bridge sections to Selkirk (in 3 30 metre sections) and installation of new bridge
|This is likely to lead to localised and short-term delays on local roads as the structures are transported to the riverside and Bannerfield areas
It is not anticipated that the lifting operation will have any significant impact on residents.
Due to its nature all timings relating to this operation are subject to change and are reliant on favourable weather conditions.
|28/04/2015 to 29/07/2015||St Mary’s Loch||Work Section 37: Spillway & Fishpass Works||There will be a slight increase in the volume of traffic on the A708|
|01/06/2015 to 30/09/2015||Works with in the Ettrick Water||Work Section 7, 9, 12, 13 and 18||These Work Sections all involves activity with in the river channel and are programmed to be undertaken during June, July, August and September.
There is a risk of localised sediment release and down stream discolouration. Measures are in place to limit any sediment release.
